"Heartstone Dartmouth is a great hotel"
I had a wonderful experience at the Heartstone Dartmouth Hotel. The front desk clerks Sharon, Amanda and Wendy were very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The cleaning lady Edna was friendly and very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The entrance was nicely decorated for the Holidays with personal touches. Any occasion can be celebrated in one of their function rooms. The cosy bar with its relaxing atmosphere adds ambiance to any occasion. The decor of the newly renovated rooms with modern touches was impressive, adding class and distinction. The hotel is conveniently located close to Lake Mic Mac and Lake Banook. The hotel is within easy walking distance of grocery stores or hop on the bus right across the street from the hotel. After enjoying your complimentary breakfast at the hotel, you can enjoy a short pleasant walk along the lakes to Mic Mac Mall or walk along Lake Banook in the other direction about 15 minutes to the ferry. Later in the day, you can take a short ten minute drive to Dartmouth Crossings for more shopping or to take in dinner and a movie.

"Maritime Inn friendliness & hospitality!"
We really enjoyed all the creative decor throughout the hotel - unique pictures and antiques attractively displayed - on the main floor and in the breakfast room and in the nice lounge at the end of our hallway and in our room. The price is right - a great value in Halifax/Dartmouth/Eastern Passage. A nice location near both an Atlantic Superstore and Lake Banook walking trail and perfectly central for our house-hunting trip - easy to get everywhere from here. The staff are super friendly and helpful - amazing - the main reason we will return and/or recommend Hearthstone Inn! The Maritime breakfast is really a treat - lots of special touches that you you find in small town inns, like homemade strawberry jam and tea in China teapots and teacups - in a nice dining room. The brewed coffee is good, but you can also make your own specialty coffee in a French press and add flavoured syrups if you like - also gourmet hot chocolate and pumpkin spice chai tea mix - very thoughtfully done... The wi-fi works fine now - we had no trouble all week, and we used it extensively for house-hunting. We also found our room comfortable and clean. This is one of the most pleasant hotel stays (one week) we have ever enjoyed - thanks, Hearthstone Inn! Also, the restaurant/bar, Reilly's, has a very friendly staff and great burgers and pizza - we will return just to eat here! So lots of quality features for the price at the Hearthstone Inn... "

"Country Charm In The City"
They say you can't judge a book by its cover. That's true with the Hearthstone Inn, Dartmouth. From the outside it looks like an average hotel however once you walk inside you have stepped back in time to elegance. The decor is old time royalty from the furniture to the light fixtures to the dishware to the nic nacks. The guest rooms are spacious and have hard wood throughout and no carpets eliminating stale rooms odors. Besides a full bathroom there was also a separate sink area which is always handy when traveling with three or four folks. A full hot breakfast was included with the room rate. And it was not served on paper plates, cups, or plastic utensils. For juice: wine glasses, for cereal: ceramic bowls: for eggs, sausages, beans, and toast: fine china, for coffee or tea: large ceramic mugs with paper cups available for carry out, and actual real silverware for eating. Again you felt like royalty and not a passing tourist. Also on site is a lounge to relax and socialize with a beverage and lite bar type menu offering. The staff are friendly and enjoyable to chat with, particularly Sharon at the registration desk. They make you feel like old friends and very welcome. "Rooms were Comfortable & Clean I recently stayed at the (Hearthstone) Inn in Sydney. My company had work in the area and they were able to accommodate my crew and I. All together there were 30 of us staying there. All staff were friendly and the food was great. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. "Hearthstone Staff Accommodated Our Many Needs We are a group of cyclists crossing Canada. We were in need of a convenient location close to the Trans Canada. This place is one of our most enjoyable on our entire journey. Management and desk staff were second to none in accommodating our many needs. Hotel is very clean and modern. The attached restaurant had wonderful food and service. You cannot go wrong in choosing this hotel for business or pleasure. "Excellent Restaurant & Nice, Quiet Room We stayed here the night before taking the ferry to Newfoundland. Nice, quiet room, refrigerator and microwave in the room were great, as I try to bring microwave meals from home to save money traveling. Excellent restaurant within the hotel for those who have a little extra time before heading to the North Sydney ferry docks. Recommend it!" - Satisfied guest
"Best Sleep Ever! I stayed at the (Hearthstone) Inn for only one night, but I wish that it could have been longer. I went down for a tournament and the place was great. The staff were friendly, and very accommodating. The only problem that came up was the pool door was broken, but we were notified even before checking in and it was fixed before we even got there. "There were 7 of us ladies, arrived there on Friday evening booking a joining room. Very clean hotel, comfortable beds, conveniently close to shopping and choices of restaurants. "Most Comfortable Beds We’ve Ever Slept In"
"From the outside this hotel looks average but make no mistake about it, this hotel is a first class experience, most notable the beds. My wife and I both agreed, mark that day on the calendar (lol), that these were hands down the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in in our whole entire lives. The rooms are quiet, dark with the shades drawn and super comfy. The perfect storm for sleepin'. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is VERY VERY friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast goes the mile, that's for sure. The hotel is conveniently located a 5-10 min drive from Halifax. The TVs are massive. This is definitely a place I would return to."-Nick W.

"My wife & I were very impressed with our room. We've stayed twice in the last month & this will be our hotel in the future. The room was very spacious. Comfortable king sized bed with four pillows. New TV. Very clean. They have a desk with a comfortable office chair. There should be another chair but that's no big deal. The food is good in the attached restaurant also." -Satisfied guest
"Good Entrance to Cape Breton Island"
"When you're just off the plane at Halifax and heading for Cape Breton, you start to realise how far it is. That's where places like the Hearthstone really help - sleep and food in one place. Just on the island with scenic views across the Canso Causeway to the quarry it really is a place to stay en route to the highlands. It's a decent value at about $105/night and the food is good too. Breakfast is especially good. We've stayed here more than once and always had a room at the back, they are quieter and don't look at truck road 4. The rooms have always been well cleaned and equipped and give a good night’s sleep." -Satisfied guest
